Every woman knows that at some point in their life they are going end up going through that life change known as menopause that they have heard so much about. Menopause marks the end of one life phase and introduces women to the next phase of their life.

It is an entirely usual part of the course of aging and is the end of menstruation. After this, a woman cannot get pregnant, which is a relief for some but is very depressing for others. It’s also common to present a lower level of estrogen and progesterone.

Menopause can happen anywhere between the ages of forty-two and fifty-six. The typical age for menopause is fifty-two. If a woman has gone 12 months without a menstrual cycle, she can assuredly state that she has started her menopause adventure.

Even though there are some benefits to reaching menopause, unwanted weight gain is something that the most of women may experience. This causes a lot of frustration but things can be done to control that weight gain.

Weight gain is almost bound to happen due to hormonal changes. To what degree though will be different from person to person. Aside from the common changes in hormones, there are also some lifestyle issues that you must have in mind.

One may realize that, although they had no problems eating their favorite foods, about a year back, now, with the onset of menopause, that very same unhealthy lifestyle would be taking a toll on their bodies. Preventing weight gain during menopause should be done by changing to healthier eating habits and sticking with them.

Of course, you may still experience some weight gain and if that happens then you can do a lot to drop the extra pounds and get back in shape. While it is easy to say that the weight gain should be prevented, it is not always that easy. If you have found yourself gaining twenty pounds or more it is extremely important you get on the ball and do something about it.

Carrots are going to give you better health then a bunch of red meat. Be certain you are getting sufficient exercise, as well as closely watching what you eat. Performing aerobic exercises and stretches is an excellent way to begin.

A schedule of weight training can be added to your routine to shed fat and build up muscles mass, once you get going into the swing of things. Whether it is running, walking, or yoga, as long as you are in motion, you are heading in the right direction. You need to make sure you keep up with the eating and exercising routine so you can continue to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle.
